About Our Ministry
Since we are pioneering the Russian Far East for AGWM we have become involved with a variety of activities here including pastor’s conferences, orphanage ministry, a homeless shelter, the extension center for Moscow Theological Seminary, church development, and other things that seem to come our way. However, our primary ministry is with residents of the orphanage system.
Our greatest burden is for the young people graduating from the orphanages. The transition is very difficult and very few are able to successfully navigate it. We have found the problems to be much more crushing than we expected. God has greatly redefined our vision for the work among these young people. We will be in the States from the summer of 2008 until the summer of 2009 preparing to return to Russia with more developed plan. You can read more about that by clicking on the "our ministry - vision" tab.
Since the nearest AGWM workers in Russia are more than 1,000 miles away, we are often asked to get involved with everything. This can be exciting, frustrating, energizing, draining, confusing and surprising. It takes great wisdom for us to know when to say no and when to say yes. A few things we've done are:
Organize pastor's conferences.
Bring in some more team members (through the M.A. and MAPS programs).
Christian Prison Half-way House renovations.
Homeless ministry
Ministry trips to other towns and villages.
Literature distribution.
Hosting visiting professors and ministers.
Church building construction.
Camping Ministry.
Evangelism in Mongolia.
Translating for the Bible Institute.
Adopting a child, Deanna (from a Russian orphanage).

You can read more about all this by clicking on the "About our ministry - Our first term" tab.
If you would like to know about the vision for our (next 4-year) term, click on the "About our Minsitry - Vision" tab.
